NSSCM POSITION STATEMENT ON SUPERVISED CONSUMPTION SITES

At the June 7th 2009 Annual General Meeting, a Position Statement on Supervised Consumptions Sites was presented to the membership and was accepted without dissent. A review of the evidence and a survey of the membership supported the development of the statement, which makes explicit that supervised drug consumption sites are a component of comprehensive public health services for individuals with substance abuse disorders and supports the continued operation of the Vancouver InSite facility.
